​Armchair Musings with Donal Ryan and Billy Keane

​Irish authors, Donal Ryan and Billy Keane will read from their wonderful writings. Join in the chat about the characters that inspire their work with two of Ireland’s greatest story tellers.

Donal Ryan is an award-winning author from Nenagh. The Queen of Dirt Island is his sixth novel following on from his award winning books including The Spinning Heart (Guardian First Book Award and EU Prize for Literature and more). His novel, From a Low and Quiet Sea, (longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, shortlisted for the Costa Award) was recently adapted for stage. Strange Flowers was voted Novel of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. Donal lectures in Creative Writing at the University of Limerick.

Billy Keane is a columnist with the Irish independent covering all the bases from his sports columns to life and general. Humorous and at times acerbic Keane is always entertaining. Author of  two highly acclaimed novels, The Last of The Heroes and The Ballad of Mo and G, he also co- wrote Rucks Mauls and Gaelic Footballs with Moss Keane. A gifted communicator who sees humour in the strangest places, Billy runs the family pub John B Keane’s in Listowel.
