Martin Hayes is one of the most significant talents to emerge in Irish traditional music. A fiddle player, he is the founder of The Gloaming, The Common Ground Ensemble, and the Martin Hayes Quartet. He is the artistic director of Masters of Tradition and previously performed at Shorelines with the late Dennis Cahill. His autobiography Shared Notes: A Musical Journey, was published in 2021.
Kate Ellis is the Artistic Director of Crash Ensemble and cellist with Martin Hayes’ Common Ground Ensemble. Pushing musical boundaries she performs and records with a diverse range of musicians including Bono and the Edge, Bobby McFerrin, Rhiannon Giddens, Martin Hayes, Ye Vagabonds, Laura Cannell, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Yurodny, Gavin Friday, Lisa O’Neill, Glen Hansard and Karan Casey. |
