In Concert: Pauline Scanlon and Band
Friday, 17 September | 8.30pm
Christ Church
Admission: €10
Pauline Scanlon, a West Kerry native whose voice is described as ‘a superb mix of china cup fragility and steely strength‘ (Irish Times), performs at Shorelines with a line-up of musicians and vocals to bring a sublime Saturday experience to our lucky audience.
Pauline’s voice comes from an ancient place but is always fresh. She is uniquely Irish yet universally understood, apparently traditional yet subversive at every turn. |

Drawn to old songs, turning them to face the modern era, to reflect a new social outlook, imagining the present as she sings them, her recent recording The Unquiet, is based on the life of her late mother and her contemporaries in Irish society. Pauline dedicates these songs to those who suffer and protest, working tirelessly to make Ireland a country that is kind, inclusive, free of shame and oppression.
Solo Albums include Red Colour Sun, Gossamer, Hush and now The Unquiet (released in 2022) produced by John Reynolds. Pauline has collaborated with many musicians including John Spillane, Trinity Roots, Lumiere and events like Bird on the Wire and Atlantic Arc Orchestra.
