The youngest of seven children from a renowned hurling family, Joe Canning won four club titles with Portumna, two All-Ireland minor titles, an All-Ireland under 21, and the ultimate All-Ireland Senior title in 2017. With fve All-Star awards and Hurler of the Year accolade, we can safely say that Joe is a sporting icon.

His memoir, My Story, gives insight into his achievements, as well as his dedication, resilience and passion.

Austin O'Callaghan, a Sligo man, is Ocean FM’s Sports Editor and was previously with North West Radio. He fronts the BBC’s GAA programme, The Championship.
